An action-packed 5-day Uganda safari by Adventures Beyond featuring Shoebill tracking at Mabamba, experiential Lion Tracking in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and a Batwa community cultural visit.
Day by Day
The itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe and shoebill tracking
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be picked up by your driver guide who will transfer you to the pier to take a boat to the Mabamba wetlands. You will see the iconic shoebill along with other birds. Check in at your hotel in Entebbe. Lodge options: Airport guest house/ Karibu guest house.

Day 2: Drive to QENP, Game drive
You will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park through Masaka -Mbarara with a stop at the equator in Kayabwe for lunch and photography. The drive will take you 6-7 hours, and is very rewarding with views of green vegetation. Upon entering the park, embark on a rich game drive in this savannah park and look out for animals like the buffaloes, kobs, and lions on a lucky day. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight. Lodge options: Buffalo safari lodge/ Twin lakes safari lodge.

Day 3: Lion Tracking – transfer to Bwindi
Be transferred by your guide to where experiencial tourism commences, with a team of experienced rangers, drive out and track the lions that are monitored. Have lunch and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. Lodge options: ichumbi lodge/ kaara mount gorilla lodge.

Day 4: Gorilla tracking, batwa
In the morning, you will be transferred by your driver to the park headquarters for briefing. After briefing, walk into the forest and begin your hike to find the mountain gorillas. Upon finding the gentle giants, you are only allowed to spend an hour watching them closely. After the tracking, get your certification and drive back to the lodge for lunch. You can have a free afternoon or visit the batwa community in Bwindi and learn about their way of life. Lodge options: Ichumbi lodge/ Kaara Mount Gorilla lodge.

Day 5: Drive to Entebbe
After a successful trip, your guide will drive you back to Entebbe.
