Rwanda's share of the Virunga Mountains holds the habituated gorilla families made famous by Dian Fossey. From the trailhead at Kinigi, the trek climbs through bamboo and Hagenia forest into the shadow of five volcanoes — and the reward is an hour in the company of a mountain gorilla family.
